This objective shows the ability to assess advantages and limitations of current and emerging technologies, on-line resources and software to facilitate teaching and student learning.

The rubric that I created in ED 505 assessed the students’ learning and technology skills. The rubric addressed the students in the following areas: basic computer skills, the ability to use on-line communication tools, the ability to use on-line resources to retrieve information, and the ability to use a variety of technology resources to complete assignments. The rubric is used to let the teacher know the areas of using technology in which the students are exceling, and the areas in which the students need improvement. The rubric is also a way to give the teacher insight on how to tailor instruction to meet each student’s educational needs.
