The information in this objective shows my ability to facilitate students' individual and collaborative use of technologies to locate, collect, create, produce, communicate, and present information.
The lessons that I taught met the parts of this objective in different ways. I taught a lesson on the digestive system in which the students had to work together in groups to create a power point using the internet to locate information. I was also able to locate a video on how food travels through the digestive system to provide the students with a visual on the subject matter. The students were really engaged while watching the video and I think that they enjoyed being able to have a different source of learning besides lecture. I also played a CD with a song called “Down, Down”, which gave another description of how food travels down the digestive tract. Some of the students even sang along as the CD played. The students were put into groups and told to use the internet to collect information on the assigned parts of the digestive system that pertained to the lesson, and create power points to present to the class. I taught another lesson on Coordinate Planes, in which students individually followed written and verbal directions on how to create a Coordinate Plane using excel. It was my responsibility to communicate the directions to create the Coordinate Plane in a way that allowed students to be successful in completing the assignment.
